See your friends every day at the Toddlercombi Daycare Centre!
Toddlers like playing together, making new discoveries and experimenting. All this is possible at our Toddlercombi preschools. These Daycare Centres focus completely on 2 to 4-year olds. There are Toddlercombi preschool groups everywhere in Amsterdam. Our staff are loving and caring, they create a cosy environment and offer ‘custom-made adventures’ which include fun activities and educational themes.
- All centres are open five days a week.
- There are centres which are open 52 weeks a year (including holidays) and there are centres which are open 40 weeks a year (closed on holidays).
- There are centres which are open ten hours a day, five hours a day and some are open three hours a day. When a centre is open three hours a day, there is a mix of mornings and afternoons.

Cheaper because of childcare benefit or City Council benefit
Like all Daycare Centres, the Toddlercombi preschool has hourly rates. Based on your income part of the hourly rate is reimbursed by the Dutch Tax Office (childcare benefit) or the City Council.

Collaboration with primary schools
Our Toddlercombi preschools work together with primary schools. The preschools use the same educational methods as are used at the partner primary schools. This makes the transition to primary school easier. At school your child will come across the same playing and learning materials as at preschool. We use four methods especially designed for preschools.
A day at Toddlercombi preschool
Your child will be placed in a fixed group. In this way it will be able to form friendships fast and see the same familiar faces of our staff every day. Children are encouraged to play games, draw, join in messy and creative play, do puzzles, sing and to develop their language skills. We do special language activities to expand their vocabulary. All language activities are done in a fun and playful way to make sure your child enjoys the learning process. That is important because a happy child learns best.
Outdoor play and exercise
We create a relaxed and cosy environment with lots of challenging materials to play with. We encourage children to explore, move and play together in many different ways. We highly value outdoor activities and physical play. In this way we also stimulate gross motor skills.
Healthy food and drinks
Eating healthy food and giving healthy drinks are an important part of raising a child. That is why we eat fruit and crackers. All food and drinks (and if needed, diapers) are included in the costs. Your child will usually drink water instead of sugar sweetened (fruit)drinks. Every day all children in the group eat fruit together. When your child celebrates their birthday at the group we ask that they bring healthy birthday treats or small gifts.
Because your child needs to get used to the preschool group, we encourage parents to visit the group as part of the settling-in process. The staff will make appointments for settling-in sessions.
Contact with parents/carers
Every time you pick up your child we tell you about what happened that day. If you have any questions about your child’s behaviour or your parenting, we will try to give advice. The Daycare Centres also organise general information evenings for parents per group or per location.
